Switching From Arini AI Receptionist to Enamly: A Full Guide
Moving off an Arini AI receptionist to Enamly takes a contract check, a test number, and one forwarding change. Here is the full switch-day playbook.

If your practice runs an Arini AI receptionist today and you are ready to switch from Arini to Enamly, the move is a short, specific checklist. It is not a leap of faith. Read your actual Arini agreement for the notice period. Build and test Enamly on a separate number while Arini keeps answering. Change one forwarding setting on switch day. Remove Arini's access to your PMS and your website. Then cancel Arini on schedule.
I sold my own dental practice in 2025 after scaling it to $1.3M in its first year. Most of the owners I talk to now who are leaving Arini are not worried about whether an AI receptionist works. They are worried about the week where two systems could both be live, or neither is.
Before You Cancel: Read Arini's Terms, Not the Website's
Arini does not publish a contract length, a notice period, a setup fee, or an auto-renewal clause for its paid service anywhere on its site. The only public terms are a generic TermsFeed template covering the Arini website itself. That template defines "Service" as the website, not the AI receptionist your practice pays for.
That TermsFeed template says a subscription "will automatically renew under the exact same conditions" unless cancelled, and that you "will not receive a refund" for the current period once you cancel. Those lines describe website account rules, not your service agreement.
They are not a substitute for the agreement you actually signed with Arini's sales team. That signed agreement almost certainly governs your practice's actual notice period and term.
Before you tell Arini you are leaving, pull that signed agreement and find your notice period, term length, and whether it auto-renews. Plan your switch date around those clauses, not around how fast Enamly can be ready.
Map How Arini Connects to Your Phone and Your PMS Today
Arini's own blog on phone integration describes two ways it connects to a practice's phone system. Its own words: "integration with your existing phone system (whether it's a traditional landline, VoIP like RingCentral, or a dental-specific platform like Weave) through simple call forwarding or a direct API." Find out which one your practice is on before switch day. The removal step is different for each.
On the PMS side, Arini's product pages name no specific system. The detail lives in Arini's own per-PMS integration guides instead, and each Arini integration guide is specific to one PMS.
For Open Dental, Arini says it connects "through a secure, HIPAA-compliant API connection that enables real-time, bi-directional data sync." Our own Open Dental AI receptionist integration uses that same category of connection.
For Dentrix, Arini describes "secure OAuth 2.0 authentication and the official Dentrix API Exchange," with a connector installed on the practice's own server. Our Dentrix AI receptionist integration works in a similar shape.
Arini also publishes guides for Dentrix Ascend (Henry Schein One's API Exchange), Eaglesoft (the Patterson Innovation Connection API), Denticon (Planet DDS's Vendor API Settings), and Cloud 9 (its own admin interface). None of Arini's pages mention NexHealth or Sikka. If you are not sure which pipe your practice runs on, ask Arini directly before switch day.
Two more Arini features are easy to forget on switch day: an "arini online scheduling module" some practices embed on their website, and automated outbound campaigns and no-show confirmations Arini runs by phone and text.
What to Keep Before You Leave Arini
Arini does not publicly document how to export call recordings or transcripts. Its Watchtower dashboard offers call summaries and conversation review, and Arini says its own staff "review every call and create tasks when follow-up or escalation is needed," but there is no published export tool for pulling that history out yourself.
Ask for an export in writing before you give Arini notice, not after. Arini's website privacy policy says account data is "retained for the duration of your account relationship plus up to 24 months after account closure," but that policy covers the website, not patient call data governed by your BAA. Ask specifically how BAA-covered recordings and transcripts are returned or destroyed when your account closes.
The Switch-Day Checklist
- Build and test on a separate number first. Enamly configures your new AI receptionist on its own number while your main line keeps forwarding to Arini. You call the new number, book a test appointment, ask about insurance, ask a general question. This is usually ready within 48 to 72 hours of your kickoff call, and nothing changes for patients until you approve it.
- Switch the phone connection. If Arini answers through call forwarding, your forwarding destination changes to Enamly's number at your onboarding call. If Arini connects through a phone-system API instead, ask Arini's team to remove that connection the same day.
- Remove Arini's PMS access. On Open Dental, this is done at Setup > Advanced Setup > API, where the practice can disable the key issued to Arini, per Open Dental's own API setup manual. On Denticon, it is Arini's own path: Setup > Offices > Vendor API Settings. On Cloud 9, Arini says access "can be granted and revoked instantly through Cloud 9's admin interface." For Dentrix, Dentrix Ascend, and Eaglesoft, no self-serve revoke steps are published, so ask Arini to disconnect the integration, uninstall any server-side connector, and confirm it in writing.
- Turn off what else Arini touches. Remove Arini's booking module from your website, and pause any Arini reminder, confirmation, or reactivation campaigns so patients do not get duplicate messages once Enamly is live.
- Give notice and keep paying through the overlap. Cancel Arini only once Enamly is tested, live, and confirmed working, on the notice period your signed Arini agreement requires, not the website template.
What Changes for Your Front Desk and Your Patients
Patients notice nothing about the number they call. They dial the same line they always have; it is simply answered differently once forwarding changes.
Your front desk notices how a call that needs a human gets handled. An Arini AI receptionist and an Enamly AI receptionist both hand off to staff differently. When something needs attention, Enamly creates a task with full context in your dashboard. Every call is logged there with its recording, transcript, summary, and outcome, so nothing depends on a sticky note or a verbal handoff.
The Cost of Switching From an Arini AI Receptionist
Arini AI pricing is not published anywhere on its site; the page offers only a demo booking, not a rate card. One third-party source estimates Arini AI cost around $249 a month, but that figure is not confirmed by Arini itself. Treat it as unverified rather than fact, and ask your own Arini rep for your actual invoice.
The real cost most practices hit is the overlap. You will likely pay for Arini and Enamly at the same time during the week or two you are testing, plus whatever remains on an Arini term your notice period requires you to see out.
Enamly's own pricing starts at $399 per month, with 600 minutes of talk time included, sized for a typical practice; most practices never come close to that limit. For the fuller feature and price comparison, see Enamly vs. Arini.
When Staying With Arini Makes Sense
If your practice relies heavily on Arini's outbound campaign tooling or its embedded website booking widget, switching means rebuilding those workflows separately, and that is worth weighing before you leave.
It can also make sense to finish what you started. Arini's own guides quote two to four weeks for a Dentrix, Dentrix Ascend, Eaglesoft, or Denticon integration. If your practice is mid-rollout on one of those, completing it before starting a second migration is often the simpler order of operations.
And if Arini's single dedicated success manager model is genuinely working for your team's post-launch tweaks, that is a real reason to stay, not something you are missing by not switching.
Key Takeaways
- Arini does not publish contract terms for its paid service. Read your own signed agreement for the notice period before giving notice, not the website's generic TermsFeed template.
- Confirm whether Arini connects through call forwarding or a direct phone-system API before switch day; the removal step differs.
- Removing Arini's PMS access is self-serve on Open Dental, Denticon, and Cloud 9; for Dentrix, Dentrix Ascend, and Eaglesoft, ask Arini to disconnect it in writing.
- Request an export of your call recordings and transcripts before you cancel. Arini does not publish a self-serve way to pull that data.
- Build and test your new AI receptionist on its own number first, so patients are never affected while you switch.

Frequently asked questions
What happens to my Arini AI receptionist when I switch to Enamly?
Nothing changes for patients during the switch. Enamly builds and tests your new AI receptionist on its own number while Arini keeps answering your main line. Once you approve it, your forwarding changes and Arini's connections to your phone system and PMS get removed.
How long does it take to switch from Arini to Enamly?
Enamly is usually ready for you to test within 48 to 72 hours of your kickoff call. How long you keep paying Arini afterward depends on your signed agreement's notice period, which Arini does not publish, so check your contract rather than assume a date.
Can I get my call recordings and transcripts from Arini before I cancel?
Arini does not publicly document a data export process for call recordings or transcripts. Request an export in writing before you give notice, and ask how data covered by your Business Associate Agreement is returned or destroyed once your account closes.
Does switching from Arini to Enamly require a new phone number?
No. Whether Arini currently answers through call forwarding or a phone-system API connection, switching to Enamly only changes where that connection points. Your practice keeps the same number patients already call.
